Ever wondered why some games are so successful? I got to thinking this about the classic arcade game pacman!

You take a yellow circular mouth thing and get it to eat a load of dots (pills) in this maze. You have to avoid the other coloured mouths (while popping pills) in the game otherwise you lose a life (except when they turn blue and then you can eat them!) "Weird"

The more pills you pop the higher you get!

You notch up the points and errm you keep getting more points and so on!

Aha! Space Invaders!

Originally created as a training ground for fighter pilots to kill off all the invading aliens from Mars. After a while the US government realised that there were no aliens so they turned it into a game! Some of what I have just said might not be true.

Here you have to manoeuvre a line drawing of a spaceship (well its a line drawing of a triangle actually!) and when you press the fire button little white dots shoot out of the pointy bit of the triangle er I mean the spaceship.

These dots (sorry missiles) when aimed correctly will explode the large 'rocks' and split them into smaller pieces until they are completely destroyed.

The idea is to score as many points as possible ad infinitum.
